Director Identification Number (DIN)
DIN or Director Identification Number is a unique identification 8-digit number for an existing or new director of a company. Director Identification Number (DIN) was introduced in India through the Companies Amendment Act, 2006. DIN provides a unique identity to the director and helps in maintaining information and record of all directors of a company.
DIN contains information regarding the director i.e. the name, PAN and their current address which enables the authority to verify that the director’s identity is valid and all information provided is accurate and faithful. Whenever a return, application or any information related to a company is submitted, the document is attested with the DIN of the directors
