Can Office Ask For Mother's ITR For Loan By Employee?
My mother was given property through a gift deed. My husband has given intimation regarding this for his department. it had been accepted and filed. No corresponding objection regarding this was received. After 5 months, when my husband requested from his department for permission for a home loan, the department is asking income of source of my mother-in-law. She has not filed an income tax return for the past last 10 years. Can the department ask ITR of 3rd party for a loan?
- Sector-1, Noida
The company cannot ask for the mother's ITR unless and until the loan has been taken in her name. If the property is used as security, then the gift deed will be the valid document to support ownership of the property.
