After having a heated argument with the landlady, the landlord has asked us to vacate the rented house, citing the reason as we are not getting along well. The argument was regarding the gate of the premises remains closed even during the day and one has to wait quite for some time to get a response from the owner. Bell not working. Can the landlord do this?

The landlord can close the gate premises as he is the owner but this can be sorted with mutual understanding. If there is a clause in the agreement then Landlord can Terminate the Rent Agreement.

Typically that is a year, but if you have a month-to-month tenancy, you can bring the lease to an end by giving one month's notice, which reduces your liability.
