A Special Leave Petition or SLP can be filed with the Supreme Court against any judgment, decree or order of a High Court or Tribunal in India. Under Article 136 of the Constitution, the Supreme Court has the power to grant special leave to appeal in any matter or cause passed or made by any court or tribunal where any substantial constitutional question of law is involved or some gross injustice has been done.
An SLP can be filed within 90 days from the date of the judgment, decree or order. An SLP may also be filed within 60 days against the order of a High Court refusing to grant a certificate of fitness for appeal to Supreme Court. Any aggrieved party can hire a lawyer in India to file an SLP with the Supreme Court. To file an SLP in Supreme Court, you can consult a civil lawyer in India to draft your SLP and file it with the apex court.
