An interior architect had taken advance for interiors and had duped me. He delayed the work and never responded to calls - upon questioning he agreed to cancel the contract and return money post deducting his charges. He did not do that as well, and I had to file a complaint at police station register a FIR and got him arrested. Here at station he agreed to pay the money back over 3 installments and yet again defaulted. I have an option to go ahead and ask for a charge sheet to be raised and arrest warrant but I doubt will that help? He is a repeat offender and I doubt if we will anyway payback - he has duped many more and we are a group of people who are scammed by him. What legal options do we have? There is also an arrest warrant that is on him by another victim along with my FIR + many more are willing to lodge a complaint. How can this be handled?

You and the other victims can file a class action against the company of the architect for recovery of your money. or as co-plaintiffs, file a debt recovery suit against the person. In both cases, it is better to talk to a good debt recovery lawyer in India. Call us at 011-33138123 or send us an email at [email protected] to get started.

You have a perfect case of instituting a class action suit against the company or yet, file a case for debt recovery. I would need further details as to where did your cause of action take place, whether in Delhi and in what part of Delhi. This will essentially decide the Court of Jurisdiction where we can proceed with this matter. Do get in touch for further queries.
