Who would be liable when a completely autonomous artificial intelligence system/bot commits/abets a crime?

The one who initiates the process that resulted into commission of that crime. It is intuitive that a programme would not commence of its own volition; even self-starting programmes would require to be coded to actuate automatically. The programmer/coder that intentionally triggers the process would be held vicariously liable.
