The Supreme Court has refused to stay the declaration of All-India NEET examination results. The exam results were declared later today on the CBSE website.

A plea was filed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with the Supreme Court to challenge the stay on the announcement of the NEET 2018 results. NEET is a national level entrance examination for admission in undergraduate medical and dental courses.

The NEET 2018 exam was conducted on May 7 and more than 11 lakh MBBS and BDS aspirants appeared for the exam.

The Madras High Court, on May 24, ordered an interim stay on the publication of results. Justice M V Muralidharan of the court gave June 7 as the last date for submission of counter-affidavits by the Medical Council of India, Director of the CBSE and Union Health Ministry.

It was alleged that the question papers served in the examinations were not uniform and the English and Tamil examination papers were very different. The students urged for the NEET 2018 to be cancelled and demanded a fresh examination with a uniform examination paper in all languages.

It was contended that the question paper was easier in some languages as compared to question papers in English paper. CBSE filed a counter-affidavit and rejected allegations of the question paper being different in different languages.
