Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble Turn Down BJP’s Offer To Stand In Assembly Polls

Published on 18 Apr 2018 by Shivi

For the 2018 Karnataka Assembly Elections to be staged in May, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tried to get famous cricketers Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble to stand in the polls.

The move from BJP was a part of their efforts to garner support from Karnataka youth in the assembly polls. However, both the ex-cricketers have rejected the party’s offer to join the party.

As per reports, BJP has been putting numerous efforts since many weeks to onboard Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble to stand against Congress’s Siddaramaiah.

Both the cricketers have also refused comment on the offer. Anil Kumble has become a sports management businessman and a cricket administrator, while Dravid is currently coach of India A and India Under-19.
