Madras HC to get six new judges, ASG Swaminathan among the names

Within a week’s time, the Madras High Court will see the appointment of six new additional judges . All the fresh appointees are from the Bar. Assistant Solicitor General of India for the Madurai Bench of the High Court GR Swaminathan is among the names.

The other new judges will be M Dhandapani, Jagdish Chandra, Bhavani Subbarayan, Audikesavalu and Abdul Quddhose .

Abdul Quddhose will follow in the footsteps of his father, who is a former High Court judge. Dhandapani has been a Special Prosecutor for Enforcement Cases.


Jagdish Chandra was a former Additional Public Prosecutor at the High Court. Subbarayan was a Senior Panel Counsel at the High Court. Audikesavalu is the junior of the state’s Advocate General R Muthukumaraswamy.
