More than twelve years after the Delhi High Court passed its judgment in the Bofors scam case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging the verdict that discharged all accused without a trial.

The sixty-nine page appeal by CBI highlights significant developments that “fundamentally alter the landscape” of the Bofors scam case.

The “significant development” relied on is based on an interview given by CEO of the Fairfax Group Michael Hershman to Republic TV, in which he revealed that he was in possession of certain documents linked to the case.
