Affidavit For Address Proof
Address proof affidavit is a written statement from an individual which is used as a proof of residence. In case an individual makes a false affidavit and is found guilty, then he/she shall be charged under section 191,193 and 200 of Indian Penal Code. This affidavit is needed when no proof of residence is available in the hands of the deponent to prove his/her residence at a particular address.
To make it legally enforceable, the document needs to be printed on a stamp paper of an appropriate value and be signed in the presence of an Oath Commissioner who shall attest the same. This affidavit is used If a person does not have any document to authenticate his/her address, so as to proof their claim on a particular address where he/she resides.
